Make-N-Take: Exploring Anishnawbemowin with Children

May 3, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

We are excited to have Alanna Mamakeesick from the Little Lions Child and Family Centre’s join us for this hands-on workshop. Alanna is from Obishikokaang First Nation and has completed her B.Ed and a B.A in Indigenous Learning.

Alanna will be providing simple teaching strategies to incorporate Anishnawbemowin (Ojibwe language) into your early year’s program. Topics that Alanna will cover include: colours, numbers, family, weather, and clothing.

This is a make-n-take workshop where educators will create a few different manipulatives to enhance the cultural aspects of their programs. Additionally, educators will have a chance to win a great resource to take back to their program, Pocket Ojibwe for Kids and Parents.
