Community of Practice – Loose Parts

October 4, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

“Prescriptive toys will tend to result in predictable play.”

Elizabeth Jarman

Why Loose Parts?

There are many reasons why early learning environments should incorporate a multitude of loose parts, including:

  • Loose parts can be adapted and manipulated in many ways.
  • Loose parts encourage creativity and imagination.
  • Loose parts develop skill and competence.
  • Loose parts encourage open ended learning.

During this session, participants will discuss, share and learn about  the endless possibilities and positive benefits of loose parts in early years environments.

See poster HERE for more details.
