The topic of Our next Community of Practice (COP) session is Child Guidance.

Child guidance consists of the things that we say and do to influence a child’s behaviour. Through child guidance, the goal is to help children learn constructive behaviours and to self-regulate.

As said by Erik Erikson, “the essential basis of an effective guidance system is a sound trusting relationship.”

For this COP session, we will discuss the variety of  strategies that we use within our programs, what is  working and what is not working. We will help each other find solutions to challenges that we are facing and discuss the importance of building positive relationships with the children that we work with.
