Community of Practice – Indoor Environments (Preschool)

February 21, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

On behalf of Communities Together for Children and the TBDSSAB, we are excited to introduce a different style of professional development called Community of Practice (COP). Please click HERE for the information sheet that explains what a COP is and how you can be involved.

For the month of February, the focus of the COP will be on Indoor Environments

The learning environment is often viewed as the “third teacher”.  It can enhance learning, optimizing students’ potential to respond creatively and meaningfully, or detract from it. Optimal use of the learning space is critical in promoting the skills to grow and develop along the Four Foundations of the How Does Learning Happen? pedagogy.

During this session, participants will share how they use their learning environments as the “third teacher.” They will also be given the opportunity to receive help and suggestions for areas of their  environments where they are experiencing  challenges.

Participants are encouraged to e-mail or bring   pictures of their environments to share
during the session. We encourage educators to include pictures of areas that are working well, as well as areas they may want suggestions and encouragement on.

Click HERE to view the flyer for February’s COP.

Note that WebEx is available for all COP sessions.
